Remembrances of a Moonwalk-
Self-Portrait with Earth
Memories
This painting is part of a series relating to some of my feelings while I was on the Moon. As you can imagine, there were many varied and vivid impressions and remembrances during the 31 hours spent on the Ocean of Storms with Pete Conrad, while Dick Gordon orbited 60 miles above us in the command module. The flight, at times, seemed unreal and perhaps a little like a dream. Careful, considered actions gave way to instinctive reactions honed by years of intensive training. Words and logic can't explain these paintings completely, since they represent my feelings.
